Fort Smith Transit provides transportation open to the general public within the city limits of Fort Smith. Our organization performs fixed route and origin to destination transportation services as well as a limited charter service by advance request. The fixed route service consists of a network of buses that travel the major avenues and some residential areas within the city. All fixed route buses are equipped with lifts for mobility devices and most routes traverse toward the downtown area once per hour to accommodate transfers as needed. Demand response or paratransit buses are available for passengers with mobility challenges that prevent access to the fixed routes or for passengers traveling to or from destinations considered outside the fixed route network area. Transit staff is well trained and can assist you with navigating the routes, selecting optimum travel times, purchasing vouchers, or simply learning to position a mobility device on a lift or inside the bus.

  ArDOT Transit Survey-5307

In an effort to identify, coordinate and enhance public transit services, the Arkansas Department of Transportation is conducting a statewide ridership survey of public transit.  The purpose of this survey is to gather information from public transit users in Arkansas about their travel experiences and needs.

We are making printed copies available, however, we prefer the online survey be used as much as possible.

The survey should only take about 5-10 minutes to complete.
