Historic charm and southern hospitality intermingle against a historic high-rise setting in Fort Smith’s downtown. Here, many famous landmarks are flanked by a creative culture of art, entertainment districts, fine dining establishments, and office buildings – including the Fort Smith City Hall.

Downtown Fort Smith Organizations

The Fort Smith Downtown Business Association's works to develop and promote downtown Fort Smith as a central hub for shopping, entertainment, dining, history and tourism as well as business services.

The 64.6 Downtown organization is the community’s accredited Main Street affiliate committed to creating vibrant spaces in downtown Fort Smith through business development, arts and culture, special events and projects, as well as the promotion of attractive amenities, like the Unexpected Fort Smith projects, visible all over downtown Fort Smith.

The downtown Central Business District works to promote Downtown Fort Smith and its immediately surrounding area as the heart of Fort Smith. The CBID helps underwrite projects that will enhance or beautify the downtown area, making it attractive for businesses, residents, and visitors.

The Fort Smith Convention Center offers 116,800 square feet of flexible event space and a state-of-the-art performing arts center. The FSCC is owned by the City of Fort Smith and operated by Oak View Group (OVG) facilities.

The Fort Smith Advertising & Promotions organization oversees tourism for the City of Fort Smith. They operate out of the historic “Miss Laura’s” historic bordello, located directly across from Riverfront Park.
