Utility Department
- Fats Oils Grease | The FOG Program’s primary goal is to reduce sanitary sewer overflows through the reduction of FOG in Fort Smith’s wastewater collection system. Interested in learning more about the FOG Program for your business, organization, or school? Contact the Water Utilities Department.
Solid Waste Services
- Landfill Tours | Tours are a great opportunity to see the facility and learn about its operations. Residents can become familiar with the benefits the landfill brings to the community.
Fire Department
- Citizens Fire Academy | Apply to the Fort Smith Fire Department’s nine-week program.
Police Department

- Citizen’s Police Academy | Apply to the Fort Smith Police Department’s 11-week program.
City Planning
- Future Fort Smith Committee | The Fort Smith Committee includes periodic progress meetings with City staff and review of City reports on the progress of the Fort Smith Comprehensive Plan. The committee also provides community groups with progress reports and helps community members find ways to get involved.
