Jeff Dingman is the Deputy City Administrator, a role he has served since June 2011. Dingman holds a law degree (JD) and a Masters of Public Administration (MPA) from the University of Kansas. He holds a BA in History and Political Science from Baker University and is a native of Eudora, Kansas.
Dingman moved to Fort Smith twice in his professional career. After serving in the City Manager’s office in University Park, Texas for two years out of graduate school, he was hired by County Judge David Hudson in 1999 as Assistant County Administrator, where he served for four years. Dingman then served eight years as City Administrator of Baldwin City, Kansas, before returning as Fort Smith’s Deputy City Administrator in 2011.
A career public manager, Dingman enjoys the nuts and bolts of the efficient and responsible delivery of municipal services. He is a member of the International City/County Management Association, and received a 25-year service award in 2022. Dingman was certified as an ICMA – Credentialed Manager in 2006. He is active with the Arkansas City/County Management Association and is a member of the Leadership Fort Smith Class of 2015.
Dingman and his wife Janel have three daughters, all of whom attended Fort Smith schools and participated in youth athletics and activities. The family enjoys following the Kansas City Chiefs, the Royals, and the Kansas Jayhawks.
